Resources to Support Members through the Endorsement Process
In an effort to support members advancing through the IMH or ECMH Endorsement Process, PA-AIMH wants to provide as many resources as possible. Below are documents that will assist members in highlighting training content in IECMH topics within an endorsement application.
Crosswalks: Helpful Tools to Support IECMH Competencies & Endorsement
The Competency Guidelines can be used to build a comprehensive infant and early childhood systems.
They create a shared framework or "map" for professional development across all sectors and disciplines of the infant, early childhood and family field across the full spectrum of service delivery, including promotion, prevention, treatment and intervention, and macro. Additionally, they outline the requirements for Endorsement by guiding one's development of knowledge, skills & best practices, gained through specialized experiences (education, work, in-service training, and reflective supervision/consultation).
Please note that applicants do not need to "start" over and that previously completed training throughout your professional experience can be included if you feel that IECMH competencies were met. However, as you work through your application and identify gaps in your competencies, specifically in the areas of Theoretical Foundations and Direct Services Skills, you may want to consider additional training that will address those gaps. In addition to exploring what may be available in your community or professional network, you may find some acceptable and reasonable options from these approved providers.
